Giveaway!

Without being too gushy and telling you all how much your positive comments mean to me and how runners really are the most kind and generous people and how much I enjoy being a part of your lives in a weird but not creepy internet sort of way... I want to give back to you and do a giveaway. I don't have any sweet hook ups with cool companies. But I have skills people. O.k. maybe not even skills, but maybe someone can benefit from my mistaken purchases.

This is my Garmin that I have used probably 20 times total in the last 3 years. It has all the cords and even the heart rate monitor. It has the CD for the computer but I do not know where the instruction manual is. You will have to find it online or have a good friend who knows how to use it. I have just found that I get myself all worked up while using it and it's just not for me. I know someone will love it though. It's spring cleaning time!

This is a spibelt that has been used once. I just didn't like it although I know there are a lot of you out there that really do. I found an iFitness one that I like more and can't see myself ever using this one again. Here again, I know someone will enjoy it and use it. It's just been sitting in my cupboard for a while.

Finally, this is my homespun crafty shirt. I made one a year ago when we were thinking of team names for the Wastach Back Ragnar Relay. Our name was Lips, Hips, and Asphalt but we were having a hard time coming up with costumes. So I thought maybe we should change our name to Bake, Eat, Run, Repeat. We could wear wooden spoons in our hair and wear aprons and serve cupcakes at all the exchanges. We stuck with our original name and loved it. But I had made up this shirt to see what we could have professionally made. Since then, I've worn it around town and I love it. I will make one for you in the colors you like and shirt size or your choice. Keep in mind that this is not really made for running in though.

To enter:
***Leave me a comment about what you love the most about running and blogging. Also tell me which one you'd like to win. I'll be drawing 3 winners. I'd love it if you follow me, but just so that I can make new friends and check out more blogs. Don't feel obligated to follow me unless you like reading my mindless dribble.
***Extra entry if you post this giveaway on your blog! Leave me a comment saying that you've done so!
Will end on Sunday April 17th and I'll announce the winners on Monday.

Running = cheaper and more accessible than Ziprazidone (antipsychiotic medication), also less likely to precipitate life-threatening arrhythmia and pill-rolling tremors. Okay, so if you can't tell I'm a med student (blog-surfing while preparing for my boards).
Running is how I slough off all of the crazy stress that I am under and feel somewhat like a normal, multi-faceted human being again (well, that and baking). Which means... the bake, eat, run, repeat shirt would be perfect for me!

Of course I'm posting this on my blog.. although not much of a following yet (other than my invisible friends)....

At one point I hated running because it was a chore -- something my gym teacher once made me do for the physical fitness tests.

But then there was a point in my life where there wasn't much keeping me happy. My friends had graduated college, but I was still around. My boyfriend was over 200 miles away, and I had nothing to do. My weight was creeping up, but I didn't know how to change it.

My favorite thing about running is that it released me from my unhappiness. I started on the treadmill and I could see progress in my distance. It helped me lose weight. More recently, I've been running outside regularly and my new favorite thing about running is the chance to view my community, my neighborhood, my city from a new perspective. Running is wonderful for many reasons, and that is why so many people love it!

Read my blog over at Philly Runner Girl and feel free to follow me!

I love running with friends, the companionship and how it brings people together. But I think what I love most about running in and of itself is accomplishing what I never thought I could do, the stretch of my legs across the earth, and the sun on my face. I would absolutely LOVE to win your garmin to use on my runs!

I would love the garmin!! I've been wanting one for ages and my nike ipod sportswatch is just no doing the trick! The thing I love most about running is how it give me a little time during my busy day to zone out and do something I can be proud to say, 'Yeah, I did that... I just went for a run :)'. I starting to train for my first marathon, so I'm crossing my fingers for that garmin!!!

Emily said...

I'd love to win a garmin! I am a new runner and I just enjoy being outside and really having some time to spend with myself--no cares or worries! Running is the best therapy!

Anonymous said...

I love running because it's a time for myself where it's just me and my music. Also, it allows me to schedule things, make mental notes, study while I'm training (I'm all about multi-tasking activities), and SO much more. There is no better way to start my day. I love it.

Oh, and I would like to enter for the Garmin. I would love me one of those! :)

I like blogging because it is a great outlet for me, and I like the friendships I have made with other bloggers! I'm not much of a runner, but I've always wanted a Garmin because I do enjoy running outside and it would be nice to track my progress, instead of resorting to staring at a treadmill screen!

I love running because it feels so good afterwards. Not so much during. But afterwards : ) I have found so many blog buddies around the country. I just love the tips and ideas found in blogland.

What I love most about running is that it gives me time to zone out and not think, stress, or worry about what is happening in my life right now. I love the fact that I can control what is happening in that moment, and just run. What I love most about blogging, is that I have a place to share my thoughts and feelings that I feel like my closest friends don't need to be bugged about. (Do they care about my Wednesday night spin class? not so much.) It also allows me to look back, and see where I've come from. I have been wanting a Garmin for so long!! I started training for my very first 5k, and I'm hoping to run a half marathon - and discovered my love for outdoor running recently. It would be super helpful.

I'm actually new to running... Since March 1st! I love the way it makes me feel! Mentally and physically! I have since inspired/pushed some friends into running! I quit smoking 2 yes ago and would have never been able to do this. My little sister is a runner and I've admired her because she has completed a few 1/2's! So excited to be a new follower of your blog! Reading others has helped me stay on task with the Couch 2 5k Program I'm following, keeping me encouraged to run a little harder, faster and longer!! I would love to win the Garmin or the belt. I'd love to give this Garmin to a friend who is beginning to run with me!!

I love the way I feel after a run. It's a sense of accomplishment when crossing the finish line or just finishing a run, no matter how long it was. A run is a great way to destress and clear my head, not to mention knowing that the exercise is great for me.

I've never had a Garmin but have always wanted one -- If I win & I hope I do, I'll be happy to take the Garming off your hands.

Blogging shows me that I'm not alone in this crazy world. It connects us all by finding things in common, knowing that someone else shares the same thoughts, feelings, and hopes is great. What a great community to be a part of.

This is such a thoughtful and sweet giveaway Jen! I just found your blog when I found a link to it on another blog. I'm definitely coming back!
What I love about running, besides the endorphin rush and health benefits, is that it makes me feel connected to my dad. He got me started early by taking me with him to the track when I was just 3 or 4. He set such an great example for me at such an early age. :)

Oh, and I posted a link to your giveaway on my blog too. :)

I love blogging b/c I meet other people who understand my addiction to running and b/c I can document this journey to look back on when I'm too old to run anymore:):)

I love that running is totally individual and no matter what else is going on in your life, its just you and the road (or the treadmill). Even if you have a bad run, any run at all can feel like such a great accomplishment. The endorphins aren't bad either!

Wow, what a great giveaway and a great blog!

There are two things I love most about running. First is the way it makes me feel. Mind AND body. I stopped running over the winter and I could not get it out of my mind. I just wanted, needed that feeling of full lungs, working my body hard and a clear head. The other thing I love about running is the community. Never have I met a more friendly, encouraging and supportive group of people. Wonderful!

I love blogging too, but am currently on a hiatus. I still keep up with bloggy friends and have found a bunch of new ones, but writing is on hold most likely until summer when my kiddos lives aren't so full.

I've been running since October. I started with the C25k program at 260lbs., and finished it at 235lbs. What I love the most about running, is that it's the one time I feel like it's completely okay for something to be all about me. As a wife and mom, I sometimes feel a lot of guilt when I am doing something for me. When I run though, it's okay for me to just be Erin again. I live for that. I just ran my first race last weekend in Salt Lake City, and had the time of my life. I've caught the racing bug for sure.

Thank you so much for an awesome giveaway! I'd love to win, but I am sure everyone would! :) I would love any of the prizes, but most especially the Garmin. I've very slowly been saving up for one... but it seems every time I get close, something else comes up. I guess that's life! :) I am following you now, too.
